Our mild, but somewhat unsettled weather pattern continues today and looks to carry us into the weekend as small disturbances in the atmosphere bring scattered rain showers to the area while temperatures stay slightly below the seasonal averages. In our area today, it will be spotty light rain showers with just enough instability to produce a stray thunderstorm or two. The best chances of that will continue through early evening. High pressure will dominate Saturday before a slightly more robust storms system brings more widespread showers and thunderstorms to the area for Sunday, especially early in the day.

If you’re heading up north, the timing of the rain chances looks similar with small doses of rain ahead for Friday and then late Saturday and for much of Sunday.

Sunshine will help temperatures climb to slightly above normal readings on Saturday while humidity levels will be a little lower under high pressure up north.

Clouds and scattered showers along and just behind a cold front will keep temperatures down just a bit on Sunday up north.
